Such a necklace would be used in Orisha religious ceremonies/altars associated with the Orisha deity Oshosi, whose ritual colors are dark blue and amber. Mazos are one of the most complex types of beadwork, and consist of various strings of beads divided into sections called 'casetas' (huts), separated by larger beads called 'glorias'.
