Notes

Abstract:
Drivers, cars and spectators on the track. Carl Fisher, who loved fast cars, built a board track in present-day North Miami Beach and called it the Fulford Speedway. Twenty thousand spectators watched the first annual, 300-mile race on February 22, 1926. Six months later, the 1926 hurricane blew the track to bits. That first auto race thus became the last race.
