Notes

Abstract:
Shows inlet between red mangroves, with lake in background. Matlack copied this view taken by another, unidentified photographer. The Crocodile Hole, just north of the present-day Fontainebleau Hotel, was a small, natural lake connected to Indian Creek by this opening. American crocodiles lived in the lake until development began in the late 1910s. ( en )
