Caption on back of photograph: "While army men lived in Miami Beach hotels during World War II, they found recreation at the the Miami Beach Servicemen's Pier. "The Miami Beach ServicemenÆs Pier was a recreational center in Miami Beach for servicemen and women. It featured dances, swimming, fishing and other activities. Celebrities who appeared at the pier for the benefit of the troops included Bob Hope, Orson Welles, and Rita Hayworth. ( en )
