Abstract:
1235-1237 Washington Avenue. The Cinema Theatre opened in 1938 under the name Cinema Casino Motion Pictures. It was later renamed the French Casino, before becoming the Cinema Theatre, ca. 1948. The theatre closed in the 1970s. The owners converted the theater into small stores, which were never rented. The Cinema Theatre building has been reincarnated in a number of famous nightclubs, beginning in the 1980s: Glam Slam (owned by the musical artist Prince), 1235, Level and Mansion. ( en )
