Abstract:
Shows the executive committee with Mrs. Coleman (seated at right) being painted by an artist (Denman Fink?). The seated audience watch the process. Caption: Organizational meeting of Friendship Garden Club. Mrs. Annie Coleman, 2nd President remained pres. for 35 years. The Friendship Garden and Civic Club (the Civic was added later) was organized in the parish hall of St. Agnes Episcopal Church as a garden club. The club served the community through its charitable work with Christian Hospital, the Daily Vacation Bible School and the Dorsey Memorial Library. The group also organized annual clean-up campaigns.
