Notes
Abstract:
From the collection, Photographs of South Florida / H. J. Webber and W. T. Swingle. Probably James L. Nugent, a French count who wintered in Coconut Grove during the 1880s and 1890s. Possibly his friend, Jean d'HΘdouville, a Belgian count who also wintered in Coconut Grove. In an 1880s Ralph Munroe photograph, Nugent had a full beard while d'HΘdouville had a mustache, similar to that of this man. ( en )
