Abstract:
Aerial view shows commercial vessels docked at Fisher Island and others waiting at outside anchorage. Government Cut and the tip of Miami Beach are to the left. Image appeared in a pamphlet published by the Propeller Club, Port of Miami (Florida): Greater Miami Port plan (as adopted by the City of Miami (1938). Fisher Island was used as a temporary port to relieve the shipping congestion at the Port of Miami during the 1920s boom. ( en )
