|a "Flamingo Hotel was opened by Carl Fisher on New Years Day 1921 at a cost of $2 million. It was Miami Beach's first grand hotel and an instant hit wit hthe public. In this postcard, large multi-colored umbrellas and palm trees offered shade as guests socialized and danced in the tea garden at the Flamingo Hotel.
