|a An investigation of rodent damage ot native thatch palms (Thrinas spp.) on Elliott Key, Biscayne National Park, Dade County, Florid awas conducted during the preiod February 1977 to March 1980. Island surveys revealed approximately 67% ofall palms were damaged to some degree. Over 40% of the palms encountered were either dead or damaged to the point that death was imminent. Three distinct levels of palm damage were discernible on different areas of the island. |
