General Note:
Sarah McLain, nicknamed the Ox Woman and six feet four inches tall, was famous for her strength. At times she lived in Long Pine Key, Immokalee, and Fort Denaud on the Caloosahatchee River. The Crieges home was located at present-day Hallandale Boulevard and Old Dixie Highway.
