Bibliography:
William “Bill” Butler was the founder of Welter's Coronet Band, a 15-member group that played at numerous funeral processions in Key West, Florida. He also played a significant role in founding the Key West Junkanoos, creating both a stage band and an African-Caribbean marching band. After his death on August 2, 1984, Bill Butler Park was established in his honor, reflecting his impact on Key West’s African-Caribbean community and his dedication to local musical heritage.
