Notes

Scope and Content:
Anita Bryant’s anti-gay campaign spoke out about fears that homosexuals were recruiting and corrupting children, comparing them to prostitutes and thieves. Children were taught to fear homosexuality in schools. The LGBTQ community protested for gay rights and Miami became the main location. The political battle intensified until Miami made it illegal to discriminate against gay residents across many sectors. Miami Beach became a safer place for those in the LGBTQ community to vacation.
