Scope and Content:
Arlene Amarant and Russell Galbut detail the areas of Miami Beach where the Jewish community had businesses in and lived. Many Jewish people traveled to Miami Beach for jobs and the GI Bill. Ruth Karp tells her experience of being faced with anti-Semitism in an upper scale Miami Beach neighborhood despite the recent accommodations for Jewish lifestyles. The C.O.R.E. group in Miami fought for racial equality together with African Americans. Also mentioned are Holocaust victims and survivors who were honored through the first memorial outside of Israel. ( English )
