Black and white portrait of Sylvia Hitchock, who also held the title of Miss Alabama. She became the first Miss USA to win the Miss Universe title since Linda Bement in 1960. She was crowned on July 15, 1967 in Miami Beach. Miami Beach hosted the Miss Universe pageants from 1960 to 1971.
