Eight charter amendments were added on the ballot; they include authorizing the city to create a group life insurance plan for city employees and officers, gives the city the right to prohibit fraudulent advertisements, the elimination of primary elections for the nomination of candidates for the city council, adjustments in the police and firemen's pension systems, and the construction of the proposed Lincoln Road mall.
