Abstract:
"The Great Spirit" statue originally stood at Alton Road and Forty-first Streets. It was moved to Pine Tree Driven in 1959 when the Julia Tuttle Causeway was constructed. Ettore Pellegata came from Italy to work on Viscera and sculpted this and other statues for Carl Fisher. "The Great Spirit' was constructed in 1924 with help from the J.B. Orr Construction Company.
