Notes

Abstract:
One of Miami Beach's first swimming pools and recreation center. Formerly the Collins/Pancoast Casino (23rd Street), in 1916 became Carl Fisher's property and renamed Roman Pools in 1916. Fisher commanded the building of the Dutch-style windmill, designed to pump water into the pools. It became the symbol of the pool. N. B. T. Roney purchased the pools in 1925 for $1 million.
