Next, the Trust listens to a presentation from Freelon Architects and Judson Architects, a local Miami firm. Miami's mayor Diaz makes an appearance at the meeting. Following their presentation, the Trust asks questions regarding the firm's presentation. Following all three presentations, Mayor Diaz speaks to the Trust and reveals that on August 1, 2005, the city will make that day "Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Day." Following the presentations, the Trust's nominating committee recommends Erica McKinney to replace Bernice Sawyer's position on the board. Following the discussion, the Board adjourns its meeting.
