- Present at the meeting from the Trust are: Maud Newbold, Eugenia B. Thomas, Mark Walters, M. Athalie Range, Gene Tinnie, Miguel Germain, Bernice Sawyer, and Gustavo Godoy. During the meeting, the Trust listens to the Virginia Key Beach Youth presentation, discusses a recent trip to Washington D.C. taken by several Trust members and staff, listens to a report from the Trust secretary, Mark Walters, and hears a report from the Trust's finance director. Next, the Trust listens to discussion items about how to increase the number of Trustees on the executive committee, a discussion about the final wording for the historical state marker, and the various committee reports. The committee reports discuss amendments regarding administrative leave and staffing needs, the impending move to the new Trust offices on Virginia Key Beach, planning for the 2006 fiscal year, addressing the potential budget impacts of incoming personnel who will be staffing the planned museum and cultural center at Virginia Key Beach Park, and establishing an ad-hoc committee to plan for the opening of the park. The Trust also continues its discussion about the capital campaign project, the upcoming Sunset Toast event at Virginia Key Beach Park, and the "CABLE-Tap" program. Next, the Trust discusses the architectural design competition for the museum, and views a PowerPoint presentation that shows the progress of the park's restoration.
