General Note:
These are a series of clips from a reception for Eugenia B. Thomas. Clips one through thirteen show various shots of the reception, the food, and the people present at the event. The videos contain footage that show several Virginia Key Beach Park trustees present at the reception. In part fourteen, David Shorter gives a short speech then introduces the chair, Gene Tinnie. In part fifteen, Gene Tinnie primarily discusses the early efforts to preserve Virginia Key from development. In part sixteen, Eugenia Thomas addresses the crowd and gives a short speech. Following the speech, Gene Tinnie asks the Virginia Key Beach Park trustees to join him for a group photograph. In part seventeen, Betsy Kaplan, addresses the crowd and asks for the state and county board members to stand.
