Notes
General Note:
This is a continuation of the interviews with the Harrison family. The video begins with Dr. Dixon showing the family historic photos from Virginia Key. The family notes that hurricane Andrew destroyed most of their photos of Virginia Key Beach. The family recalls that the Virginia Key dance floor helped to defuse tensions between the "north side" and the "south side." One of the family members recalls that Virginia Key "had a strange odor." They were unsure if the smell came from the seaweed or a sewer that ran along Virginia Key Beach. The family remembers that some people swam from Virginia Key to Crandon Park. They remember that jellyfish appeared at Virginia Key Beach during certain times of the year. They remember that both children and adults danced on the dance floor.
