Abstract:: An invitation to a banquet held by the Florida Morticians Association in honor of M. Athalie Range, who won Mortician of the Year in 2000. Athalie Range was the founding chair of the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust, as well as a politician and civil rights activist. She was the first African-American to serve on Miami's City Commission and the first woman, and African-American since Reconstruction, to head a Florida state agency. ( en )
