Deacon Jones, Eric Knowles, Larry Little (in blue), and Mercury Morris (far right) pose with other guests at the 2008 Larry Little Legends Golf Classic Pairings Reception. The annual tournament benefits Virginia Key Beach Trust. Gordon "Eric" Knowles is Chairman of the Miami Chamber of Commerce. David "Deacon" Jones was a professional football player who played for the LA Rams, San Diego Chargers, and Washington Redskins. Jones was considered one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980. Mercury Morris played Running Back for the Miami Dolphins in the 1970s. He played in three Super Bowls and three Pro Bowls, and is a two-time Super Bowl champion. Larry Little played right guard on the history-making 1972 Miami Dolphins, racking up many individual accollades and awards. He is a 2-time Super Bowl champion and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993. He is also dedicated to supporting the Virginia Key Beach Trust to ensure the preservation and upkeep of the historic park that he himself visited as a child during segregation. ( en )
