Abstract:
Garth C. Reeves receives the Service Award at the 2008 Larry Little Legends Golf Classic Pairings Reception. The annual tournament benefits Virginia Key Beach Trust. Mr. Reeves is the publisher emeritus of the Miami Times, the oldest and largest black-owned newspaper in the southeastern United States. Reeves worked at the Times for over five decades as a columnist, editor, and publisher, and was the first African-American to serve on several local boards. To his right are Maud Newbold, Trustee, and Eugenia B. Thomas, Trustee and former Vice-Chair of the Trust. ( en )
