An activity book for children between the ages of 8 -12 intended to teach young readers about the environmental and historical aspects of Virginia Key Beach Park. Virginia Key Beach Park was opened in 1945 and was known as "the colored beach" during the era of racial segregation in the South. Today Virginia Key is one of several barrier islands located in Biscayne Bay off the Florida coast and is a natural refuge for many plant communities and endangered wildlife. ( en )
