"The Mara River Basin Monograph provides comprehensive information and knowledge base on the existing conditions in the Mara basin. It covers the Mara natural resources, land and water use activities, environment and ecology, built infrastructure, energy resources, and trade and industrial activities. It also includes socio-economic conditions and development opportunities. Cross-cutting and transboundary issues which can only be addressed through an integrated water resources planning and management approach. Based on the knowledge and information provided in the Monograph, the Mara Cooperative Institutional Framework and Investment Strategy is developed and summarized in this Monograph. It includes a regional transboundary and national programs, and the associated funding and implementation plans."
