|a Studies in the MRB suggest that the best approach to conservation of biodiversity is not only through conservation of plant and animal species, but also through conservation of habitats. Moreover, experience shows that the best way to conserve species is through protection of their critical habitats. This BSAP aims at conserving biodiversity in the MRB through conservation of three critical habitats namely: (i) Forest Habitats of the Mau Forest and Mara Riverine Forests; (ii) the Serengeti-Maasai Mara Ecosystem; and (iii) Aquatic Ecosystem of the Mara River. |
