Abstract:
Newspaper article about the dedication of Arch Creek Memorial Park, Metropolitan Dade County's newest preserve on one of the oldest sites in the park system. The park was dedicated to the memory of North Miami Police Officer Carl W. Mertes, who died in the line of duty on the site of the park. There is reference to some words by Alice Cohen, President of the Trust. The ceremony closed with the attendees singing the song written by Jessie Freeling, "Meet Me at the Bridge”
