Photo ran in the Miami News, October 12,1 988.Caption: A weary and exhausted Barbara Capitman, 68, sit on the steps of the Senator Hotel with Mattie Bower, of Miami Beach late Tuesday night. Hoped a large group of supporters would have gathered for a candle light vigil, but only a handful of people showed up. Capitman has been the burning force behind the movement to save the Senator Hotel from the wrecking crane. October 11, 1988.The hotel was located on Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. ( en )
