Notes

Scope and Content:
Janet Goldman is the widow of Tony Goldman, whose talent for creating cultural and artistic hot spots from old, rundown neighborhoods was instrumental in making South Miami Beach an international destination. Ms. Goldman talks about her husband’s genius and laser-focused drive to not just restore old buildings but to create exciting neighborhoods with unique 3 cultural attributes and good restaurants. (SoHo, South Beach, and Wynwood Walls) She reminisces in detail how they met and became college sweethearts, both studying theater. She discusses their family life, especially Tony’s childhood. He was adopted at birth and late in life reconnected with his biological parents, which had an enormous emotional impact on him. Ms. Goldman mentions Tony’s love of music and that he was a “song and dance” man. She gives a total picture of an extraordinary visionary. ( en )
