General Note:
Emily McCloud Jackson (1907-1992) was the first female mayor of Boynton Beach. Moved to Boynton Beach in 1951 after a career in teaching in Connecticut. Served on the city council from 1970-1973 and 1975-1978 as mayor in 1973 and 1978. She moved to Palm Beach Gardens in 1980 and then to Jupiter in 1988.
