General Note:
Frank McCoy Jr., telephone repairman for Bell South, became a city councilmember in 1965, as a "Goldwater Conservative." In January 1967 he became mayor, but resigned on 8 March 1967 for personal reasons. He later ran for county commissioner (1970) as a Democrat.
