Biographical:
Rachelle Nelson is a musician, composer, and cantor at Temple Beth Am in Miami. Born and raised on Miami Beach, she is a graduate of Miami Beach Senior High, where her musical talents began to flower. She discusses the challenges of being among the first female cantors in Florida, and racial discord while a student at Beach High. She is the niece of famed Miami Beach based impresario Judy Drucker. Nelson tells stories of accompanying her aunt to lunch at famed opera tenor Luciano Pavorotti's New York apartment and tells the reason her aunt was so successful in bringing big names to perform in South Florida.
