Scope and Content:
Theresa (Teri) D’Amico, luxury resort designer, tells about succumbing to her fascination with Art Deco by moving to Miami Beach and becoming and MDPL tour guide. She was involved in documenting Morris Lapidus’ residence, resulting in his unique dining room being displayed at the Bass Museum. D’Amico tells how she and Randall Robinson came up with the term “MiMo” to describe mid-century modern Miami architecture. She has given lectures and tours of MiMo areas. She talks about her efforts to encourage appreciate for both Art Deco and the emerging appreciation for MiMo.
