Historical note: Ward Miller raised vegetables and cattle on the barrier island a few miles south of Ocean Ridge and a few miles north of Delray. After the land boom busted in 1925, his real estate venture failed, but he allowed "tin-can tourists" to park their trailers on his land for $3 a week. The trailer park grew into a small town, which incorporated in 1963. |
