Notes

General Note:
The Boynton High School building on Ocean Avenue. Historical note: The Boynton High School building, built next to the 1913 Elementary school on Ocean Avenue, was completed in 1927. The 1928 Hurricane damaged the gymnasium roof. In 1929, the first graduating class, comprised of only two students, obtained their diplomas. The last year of Boynton High School was 1949, with fifteen graduating seniors. High school students from then on went to other schools and the building was then used for elementary and junior high education. In 1959, the Junior High moved as well, leaving only the Elementary School. In 1989, the school closed. The City of Boynton Beach procured the building from the Palm Beach County School Board in 1993 and remained in possession of it until 2007. That year, the city transferred ownership to the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). In 2009, the CRA shifted ownership back to the city.
