General Note:
Group of children on the porch of a one-room schoolhouse with belfrey. Teacher Lurleen Roberts of Key West. Front row: Arthur Murray, Marjorie Rousseau, Jimmy Collins, Charles Collins, Sadie Murray, Cora Harper, unknown, Cecil Harper, Reginald Rousseau. Middle row: Louis Collins, Kenneth Rousseau, Theresa Hilliard, Charles L Pierce, Hazel Daugharty, Elfie Hilliard, Eleanor Murray, Mildred Rousseau, Clara Collins. Back row: Ella Harper, Glenn Murray, Mabel Tedder, unknown, Ivan Rousseau. Historical note: A single room built in 1900 for local white children, grades 1-9, on the same plot of the later Boynton School on Ocean Avenue. The bell was later moved to the larger Elementary School built in 1913.
