Seven young women, Stetson University students, "Hoover Girls," in their uniforms. Hazel Daugharty in middle. Holmes Hall in background. Historical note: In WWI, the United State Food Administration was created, headed by Herbert Hoover. One of its main initiatives was to encourage food conservation. "Hoover Girls" educated the public on food conservation techniques.
