Notes

Abstract:
Documents on the Blackwell Residence located at 361 NE 97 Street. It includes a September 10, 1984 designation report detailing the property's historical and architectural significance. Built in 1926 by the Miami Shores Company and designed by Kiehnel & Elliott, the Mediterranean Revival two-story structure features a Spanish barrel tile gable roof, arched entry door, wood casement windows with Bahama shutters. Once the residence of T.J. Blackwell, a prominent Miami attorney and Village Judge, and his wife Harriet Grey Blackwell, a Miami Shores poet. Additional correspondence dated August 30, 1984, and July 17, 1997, addresses the property's nomination for historic landmark status, code violation notices, and application for Certificate of Appropriateness.
