Newspaper clipping photo showing two homes in Miami Shores. Text reads: Colonial residences, adapted to the mild climate of the sub-tropics, enhance the beauty of the 4 ½-square mile village of rigid building and zoning restrictions. These are two of the 189 new homes built in Miami Shores in 1940 at the cost of $1,231,971. U. R. Kokenge, wholesale furniture company executive, owns the one on the left, 1273 N. E. Ninety-fifth street, and James A. Trotter, retired merchant of East Liverpool, Ohio resides in the other, 1285 NE Ninety-Fifth Street. ( en )
