Notes

Abstract:
Designation Report for the property located at 1009 N.E. 94th Street. The property, owned by Karen Ellenby, was built in 1937 by architect George Coffin and builder B. E. Mevers. The two-story Southern Colonial structure features masonry/wood construction with significant architectural elements such as a flat cement shingle hip roof, painted masonry block facade on the first story, horizontal wood siding on the second story, a centrally located chimney, and a two-story porch with smooth square columns. The property has a tennis court and significant landscaping with live oak trees and tropical foliage. It also features a coral rock wall bordering the north side. The property's historical significance lies in its location near the 1856 Military Trail and its association with the 1873 Barnott Homestead. ( en )
