Notes

Abstract:
Landmark Fact Sheet for the Lucien Renuart House located at 501 N.E. 94th Street dated 11/21/83. The property was constructed in 1935. The architect was Henry VanDerLyn, and the builder was Henry M. Thomas. The original owner, Lucien Renuart, was associated with Renuart Lumber, a prominent business in Dade County. The two-story English cottage-style structure features masonry/stucco construction with an irregular plan. Architectural elements include a cantilevered second-story with a hip roof, exposed wood joists, half-timber detailing, stained glass windows, decorative buttresses, and a modern wood entry door with a brass hood and masonry coat of arms. The house is significant for its detailing, size, and unusual style in Miami Shores. ( en )
