Abstract:
This oral history of Junie Dareus offers insight into the Haitian immigrant experience in Miami. Dareus discusses her own journey and challenges as an undocumented immigrant, including issues of access to healthcare and education. She highlights the solidarity within the Haitian community, their struggles, and the pivotal role of community centers and churches in providing support. The narrative also covers the broader socio-political context, including the changing immigration policies and their impact on the Haitian community. ( English )
