Notes

Scope and Content:
Allan Hall and his brother Andy are the only Holocaust survivors to graduate from Miami Beach High School. Allan was born in Poland and from the age of 5, he and his family lived on the run from the Nazi terror. He tells in great detail how he and his family survived the Warsaw ghetto and the massive deportations of Jews in Poland by “hiding in plain sight,” the title of his book. His parents, he and his brother, managed to get passage to the U.S. after World War 2. He eventually made his way to Miami Beach, where he worked as a construction engineer. He talks about the corruption which made him decide to move away. After completing law school he came back to Miami Beach to practice law. He provided legal services pro bono to any Holocaust survivors. ( en )
