Notes

Scope and Content:
He was a “poor Christian kid living south of 5th.” He worked at Joe's Stone Crab for 15 years. He talks about Jesse Weiss and his mother, a local character known as “Fish Mary.” She had the concession for catching and selling live bait on the 5th Street Pier. She had a big bait tank on wheels with an electric air pump she plugged into the pier sockets and a large square dip net she'd lower over the side to periodically refresh the bait well's contents. Bowman also talks about the changes brought about by the Cuban influx after 1959 and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
