Notes

Scope and Content:
Mayor Levine took office in 2014. He took up residence on South Beach as a young entrepreneur and a new company which was successful supplying media content and services to the cruise industry. Mr. Levine talks about being mentored by Tony Goldman, who was then engaged in buying up properties on South Beach and renovating or redeveloping them. Goldman was an inspiration to Mr. Levine, who has a portrait of Goldman on the wall of his office. Mr. Levine talks about the spirit of creativity and entrepreneurism of that time, which spurred the re-birth of South Beach into a major tourist area. “Creative collaboration is what the beach is all about.” He discusses his goals as Mayor.
