Scope and Content:: Andrew Capitman, an investment banker, grew up in Miami. He and his mother Barbara Capitman were pioneers in the revival of the Miami Beach Art Deco District. Mr. Capitman was a founding director and former president of the Miami Design Preservation League. In this interview, he talks about coming to Miami Beach with his parents, driving down from New York in the 50's and early 60's. He also discusses his experiences of the early days and challenges in trying to preserve the Miami Beach Architectural Historic District.
