Interviewed shortly after being re-elected for 3rd term as Miami Beach Mayor. She was one of the founders of the Miami Design Preservation League. She talks about the development of the Beach: the impact of the Mariel exodus from Cuba, the preservation of South Beach with specific mention of Friedlandʼs Bakery, the Carlyle and Cardozo Hotels. She talks about her community activism from her start with the PTA, through historic preservation to seeking office as a MB Commissioner. She talks about Barbara Capitman and Leonard Horowitz, the Miami Beach Development Corporation, UNIDAD and getting Hispanics involved in civic life, the formation of MDPL and the Art Deco District.
