St. Joseph's Academy was a boarding school that the Sisters of St. Joseph had built and opened in 1925 at 2701 Indian Mound Trail until the temporary church was built in 1928. In 1932, St. Joseph's Academy, the parochial school associated with the parish church, was renamed to St. Theresa School.
